If a burglar is going to get access to these lists, I’d prefer they at least go through channels by filing a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request.

What do you think?

I think that a burglar will not get access through a FOIL request, nor does he need to. If he can read, he will buy an anti-American newspaper which will publish a list after obtaining it through a FOIL request.

I think it's one more reason to move out of New York State. I left 10 years ago and I'm not looking back!

Several papers in Ohio did this, including the "Plain Dealer". Well, as they say, "Payback is an Obama". The personal information of a number of newspaper executives (as well as their families) was posted on the internet. This seemed to genuinely astonish the people at the "Plain Dealer". Of course the Doolittle raid astonished Tojo too...

Actually, if criminals DID use that information to locate and burglar homes with guns it reasonably follows that the population of criminals would start a steep decline!
