I'd be lying if I said the
Lethal Weapon movies weren't at least partly responsible for my first gun purchase in the 90s, a Beretta 92FS. Took several classes with it, always shot it well. I still have it. It's currently serving as a HD gun, loaded with 147gr HST.
Funny story: In one of the classes I took 9mm ammo was provided. At the end of the last day, after the class was officially completed, the rangemaster/head instructor said there was still 9mm ammo leftover and we could go ahead and shoot it all if we wanted (oh, the 90s...). I decided to try my hand at prone shooting since I'd never done that before. While I was on the ground I was reminded of those scenes in where Riggs rolls across the ground while shooting, so I tried it (FYI, I was safe about it, making sure my muzzle was ALWAYS pointed downrange at the target). I honestly can't say if I hit the target, though. One of the associate instructors walked over and said, "Well, I've never seen that before." The frivolities of youth.
Not really thread-related, but that same after-class session I decided to push my Beretta, running 60 rounds through it as fast as possible. The gun got too hot to hold so I had to lay it in the grass to cool off. It never malfunctioned, even though I had been shooting it all day without cleaning. That always impressed me.
