Much to my surprise I was in the Columbus, Ohio Cabela's yesterday and they had half a dozen Great Western revolvers in their Gun Library. More than I ever remember seeing in one place at one time. they must have bought out someone's collection.
I really like this one and would jump on it if I saw one like it for sale. I think I see a screw hole for a short ejector housing. I like it without it.I bought this from a local pawn shop. The Great Western Story is a classic tale of American business. Most of us from CA, who were there at the time have since left for parts less communistic. I live in AZ now. There are a couple old West towns nearby with cowboy shows and I figure this old piece was part of one. It has the inscription "K Empey, US Marshall" on the back strap. It's a 45 Colt and has had the barrel shortened. I feel lucky to have found it.
