OK, here's mine. 1968 Model 63 no -, P&R with smooth targets.
Sad story - I bought it from a nice gentleman about my age (67). He said he bought it new to teach his son and daughter to shoot, and hopefully to get them interested in shooting sports. But alas, they had no interest in guns and neither wanted it.
In 2014 he put it up for sale on a "Handguns for sale" site and I was lucky enough to get it. Great guy and I felt his pain.
Now, me and my wife shoot the heck out of it and it rests nicely in an "official" S&W 22/34 holster while quail hunting, waiting for that "sitting bunny shot".

2S16,
Your model 63 no dash cannot possibly be from 1968. The model 63 was not introduced until 1977. Since yours has a pinned barrel, it was made between 1977 and 1981. Those smooth targets you have on it are simply gorgeous! That aside, this is a fun topic and I love kit guns so I'll play and show off the ones in my collection:

34-1 2" RB

34-1 4" nickel SB w/pearl stocks

34-1 4" blue SB w/ special order red ramp front sight (shown with above 4" nickel)

63-4 5" 8 shot

These aren't kit guns because they have 6" barrels, but I have to throw them in because they're still I and J frames and still fun!

Model 35 no dash .22/.32 target - built on improved I frame

And finally, the granddaddy of them all, the original Bekheart model, the .22/.32 heavy frame target! (mine is from 1926 w/ special order white insert front sight):

I love those Bekeart's. The LGS has had one out for a couple of months now. . .not one of the original few, but still a Bekeart. I just can't make myself spring for the $1500 I'll likely have to pay to get it. Here's mine. One I've posted many times before. An Improved I Frame from around 1955. It's about 98%. I got it for $500 OTD last year. . .more in my price range. My other one is a 1987 2 inch barrel LNIB. I've never taken a picture of that one.

I passed on a Model 63 P&R a few weeks ago at $600 OTD. It was really nice too. I'm kind of regretting that. Now I "still" don't have one.

I can't see how anybody could possibly live without a kit gun! They're handy. They look good. They're accurate. And most importantly, they're just plain darn fun to shoot!!!

Here's my Model 34-1 that's accompanied me on several outdoor adventures. I don't know how many rounds I've put through it, but it's just as accurate as ever.:)

Yes to all of this!

My first firearm back in 1959 was an S&W 22/32 Kit Gun, blue, 4" barrel, round grip. I just never could get used to that grip and eventually traded it for a Ruger Single Six..........many years later I found that it was not a good/even trade!!!

But, I still like the Ruger grip better!!:)
