Here is one I made honoring my father.

The plane is a B-58 Hustler. It was the first operational supersonic jet bomber. The little gold m2 pin (next to the dog tags) was awarded for going mach 2.

Those are all beautiful boxes. I have been thinking about making my own box. Just might be a good cold weather project. Boy, the Air Force seems to have cooler looking patches and pins than the Army does. Oh well, I am still proud of the Army.

I don't know, my old man and uncle were both Army and then later Air Force, and while neither were very vocal about it, I'm pretty certain they both held their CIBs in the highest regard of anything they ever sowed or pinned on their uniforms.

AMEN! I hold the CIB in high regard. That is something to be proud of. I do not have one, kind of wish I did but am glad I never had the opportunity to earn one.

That is a great suggestion. The only problem is that he died when I was only 6 years old (1967). My mother passed in 1987 and my brother 3 years ago. I was able to find the stuff that I put in the shadow box among some of my brother's things. I know there is other stuff, but I have yet to locate it unfortunately. But one day...............

If you have a picture of him with his uniform, he'll either be a Basic Navigator (plain wings), Senior Navigator (wings w/star on top), or a Master Navigator (wings w/star & wreath).
