Letter from S&W

So I'm right 1050 + 68 degrees = 1118 for a rough cal. Its close enough considering hum. Will affect it also.. I'm shooting fed bulk threw mine and haven't had any prob. So I'm going to keep on shooting it

Belt fed, from listening to guys like you and phil ( and others ) I know you know your ..it. So do you agree that it appears to be about brand instead of velocity? Also in your opinion, why do you think fed bulk wasn't mentioned as one of the recommended ammos? Here's my take, ( let the flaming begin ) I think most people shoot fed bulk through this gun. I think there was a couple of reports of oob with fed bulk on this forum. I think these people had a faulty extractor and they just so happened to be using fed bulk. When you call smith to get a repair label ( been there ) they ask you what kind of ammo you were shooting when you had the problem. If they got these oob reports with fed bulk they wouldn't put that on the recommended ammo list. I have a ton of this fed bulk and I know you guys do too. I think I might be trying to make myself feel better about buying all the fed bulk ammo but give me some input good or bad:o

To be honest I don't have the info s&w has but from what I've seen on here as long as the rds have enough of a charge to fully cycle the bolt and doesn't have soft primes there is no prob. I've only seen maybe 1 or 2 that have been messed up with fed bulk and id like to know how many rounds had been fired through the gun since it was cleaned... I think fed bulk is on the edge of not cyling the bollt and if they get dirty enough it won't cycle the bolt... I think most of the prob. we r having are timing issues and the further it slams the bolt back the less likly you r to have a oob... that's just my .02

Do you people not read the owner's manual?

That exact paragraph was in mine ...

Guns come with manuals:D... well ain't that as handy as a pocket on a t-shirt

Like I said 1050 + ambi. Air temp. Will get u close enough for all practical purposes

Just loaded up 75 rounds of my Federal Bulk and everything was smooth as silk. I am not saying they are perfect or the gun is b/c I have had a couple get jammed up b/4 but it's rare.
Then I decided to try out some of the 2100 rounds of Remington Gold Bullets my wife bought me for xmas. After 75 rounds of those I came up w/ 3 FTF which were obviously the ammo b/c the firing pin marks were deep and correctly positioned. I also had 3 that didn't load. They were as everyone else says sticking straight up and the bolt had dented the casing. These Remingtons are dirty and some of them don't sound right when fired. They almost sound as though they don't have the pressure they should. I will continue to shoot them until I either run out or one damages my rifle. After that I am done w/ them.

Rem GB work fine in many other .22s. If you only got one .22 then the Rem GB your wife got you for X-mas would be a great excuse to explain to her why you need another.... (I'm always looking for some type of rationale to buy another gun).

I was leaning towards a Walther P22 anyways. Hhhmmmm
First I have to get my new Del-Ton flattop in a week. The misses thinks I am gun crazy. I love em, I can't get enough.

Oh, and she bought this rifle too. She told me to make sure you knew that.

(I'm always looking for some type of rationale to buy another gun).

The only rationale you need to buy another gun is that you want one. In short, no rationale is necessary. The decision of "if" your getting another gun is a given. The only decision left is "which one", or more specificly, which one first. :D

And if you want to eliminate the questions (like "I saw the gun store charge on the VISA statement!"), then save a $20 bill or more out of your periodic ATM hits for cash, stick in an envelope in your underwear drawer, and go purchase new toy with cash once you have enough saved.

Ya but my wife will find it there she is like a blood hound whenit comes to my stashes lol... so I've got a little savings account that I put a few dollars in every week.. direct deposit... so when I find something I can't live without... I don't lol

An excellent alternative. And assuming you keep money in there for awhile, you can earn some interest to boot. For something like a Bushmaster ACR, or an FN FS-2000, I suspect I'd be wise to start that account now.
