Leupold Deltapoint 2

So I see Leupold has come out with this new red dot. Battery on top, adjustable brightness, less blooming of dot. OK, sounds fine to me, but where do you buy them?

And if you read the descriptions of what SWFA calls a Deltapoint 2, it's describing a Deltapoint 1. Seems like these have been "coming soon" for a long time. Personally I don't mind, I have the original Deltapoint and shot over 40K rounds with it and couldn't be happier.

OK, and what does cross slot mounted mean? I have a M&P CORE. I assume this will fit fine. Right? Chime in Bkreutz.

The cross slot is fine(you won't use that but you can't get one without some kind of mount), you don't need the "all mounts" since you already have the plates. What I said in my earlier post about SWFA is that they list a Deltapoint 2 but if you read the description they're describing a Deltapoint 1 (features motion sensing Auto On, don't mention a brightness adjustment .....) If you're going to order from them, I'd suggest you call and verify that you are indeed getting a DII. If not, then DI's are available much cheaper than that.

Thanks BK. I knew you'd offer assistance. In the mean time I did speak with Optics Planet. They have the Deltapoint 2 cross slot coming in approx 10/15/14 plus another 5 days shipping. Double verified this with the salesperson on the threat that I'd drive down to Chigaco and visit him. I ordered the DP 2 w/3.5 MOA. Asked if they gave Vet discounts. He gave 10% off and ended up with $369.99 & free shipping. Great price. Have to wait 3 weeks but that's OK. BTW. When & where in Nam.

If you will do a basic google or bing search for the product "for sale" there all over the place .
Price was so close to trijicon rmr I went with the no battery version for 30 bucks more.
Amazon , bhpphoto, opticplanet and several smaller dealers all for the same prices.

Ya, I'm not seeing it anywhere in stock. SWFA showed it in stock but I called and they're not expecting any in till later in October.

I have had a Deltpoint 2 on order from B & H Photo since July 31st. Originally they said expected availability was 9-26-2014. That date came and went. Now it says expected availability is November 12, 2014. Leupold used to have information about it on their web site but now do not. They only have the DP 1. Makes me nervous about what is going on.

The DP2 will never hit the market. A rep from Leupold told me that they are fulfilling government orders but pulling the DP2 in favor of a new and improved DP Pro due out Q2'15

This is what I heard as well.

Also, when requesting information about the DP2 compatibility with the CORE last month from Leupold, I was told, "You will have an issue cowitnessing with the Delta Point2, the Delta Point 2 sits higher than Delta Point. I have tested the Delta Point 2 on the CORE, you can see the front site, however, is it not easy to acquire the front iron." I haven't inquired about the height of the DP Pro yet.

Why mess with a good thing. I've use mine 5 times a week, every week, last month I had it off so I could shoot an IDPA match with it and figured I'd replace the battery since it was off. It went 7 months of daily usage without any problem. The zero hasn't moved (even with taking the sight off and back on again). 30K rounds later it still "takes a beating and keeps on ticking". I'm not real sure of what features they could add to a Pro model that I would need. The auto brightness works well for me indoor or out.

I got mine from Okefenokee Outdoors but I just checked and they don't have any (probably waiting for the DPII ) I paid $327.00 for mine.
