Lever Action Magazine pistols

Is anyone aware of these ever being the subject of conversions to shoot metallic cartridges; either historically or contemporary? It would be very interesting to me if such was ever attempted and I would be interested in any historical information.

Also with Uberti cloning everything under the sun, it would seem to be an affordable way for more people to own them and in a popular 22 chambering, for anyone to be able to shoot one.
