I have this LH 24-3 44 special and want to know how much these are running these days. It’s a sweet shooter.

Serial is AEL 11118

Welcome to the Forum! That's a very nice LH Model 24-3 .44 Special. There are lots of Lew Horton and .44 Spl. fans here on the Forum so you're in good company. The triple-alpha s/n of your revolver dates its manufacture to 1984, and it's part of the .44 Target Reintroduction by S&W that began in 1983 (per the "SCSW 5th Ed."). Yours looks to be a desirable 3" bbl. LH combat variation (Product Code 100787), and there were approx. 1,000 revolvers manufactured. These were originally shipped with a black leather holster. It appears to be in excellent condition, and with the original box (and holster?) I would think it would be valued at $1800-$2K, perhaps more to the right buyer.

Have one I ordered and bought new in 1983 as soon as the Shotgun News ad ran. There were reportedly 5000 of this model produced for Lou Horton and an unknown number of overruns. And, there were a number of factory engraved versions (maybe 100?) at the start of the limited run. Mine; AEM prefix, is part of the LH run, so your AEL certainly is. Somewhere I have the contact information for a person with LH records that can provide a letter of authenticity. I would not be surprised to see one sell for $1500-$1800 in condition such as yours. I had Keith Brown "hideout" stocks made for mine - the combats do not fit my hand.DSC02157.jpeg
