Have had two 60-10 .357s with the 3" barrels and adjustable sights for probably 15 years. I liked the first one so much when a second one showed up at the same shop I bought it too.... I think at the time they were around $300.00. The second one however was Mag-Na-Ported....

In reading the Standard Catalog of S&W several years ago I saw that Lew Horton had a limited edition that was ported. Last week I finally got around to pulling out the gun, getting the serial number and sending an email to Horton's...today the response came back.

Turns out that this was one of 183 guns that Lew Horton had S&W ship to Mag-Na-Port for porting and was deilvered to LH in February of 1997. The Stock Number is 102432 and the guns were in the CBM59XX serial number range.. They were called The Small Hunter.

Anyone else have one??

Here are some pics. I still have the Uncle Mike's grips that came on it but prefer the Pachmayer Cmpacs for shooting...

Here's mine from 1997. 60-10 (CBM44xx) A phone call to S&W CS told me it was sent to Mag-na-port before being shipped to distributor. I don't know for certain who sent it to Mag-Na-Port as I don't have the box and I'm relying on a brief telephone conversation with a S&W CS rep. It's my only Mag-Na-Port and I like it, but given a choice, I'd probably go with the non-ported version. It's like a mini 686 and makes an perfect camp or light woods gun.

The guns were sent to Mag-Na-Port by S&W for the LH contract. The guns were delivered to LH in February 1997 and then shipped to dealers the same month...

You can go over to the LH website and send them your gun description and serial number and they will send you back a file with a confirmation letter just like S&W does...but it's free...

I have a plain Jane non-ported 60-10......... love it..... it's been my "Kit Gun" for at least the last 15 years. mine wears a set of Spegel extended boot grips in black walnut.

Have a mag-na-ported 3" 65 from the 80s........ a cool idea .... but much overrated IMO......
