Hello all, I just traded for 686-1 2.5" ( thanks Al!) and in checking it's serial #AWTxxx against my SCSW it shows it was built in the summer of 1987, the SCSW also states that the 2.5" 686 didn't become a catalog item until 1990. Do I have a Horton 686 snub? Do any of you know the serial # ranges for the Hortons? How many runs were there for Horton? I know the initial batch of 5000 was run in 85/86, did they continue that run?
Thanks!
Here's mine:

Here's one I used to own. It was made in November of 1985, one of the first of the Lew Horton run. I don't have the serial number close at hand though.

Didn't say it made it special, I was just curious that's all. Anyway called Smith today and they said no, not for Horton, built on Fri. May 29,1987.

Ok, Whos Lew Horton ?
Big firearm distributor who gets alot of special edition's. His special editions have paved the way for several items that were put into full production like the 2.5" 686 among others.
