Lew Horton N frames with Keith Brown stocks

Thought I would share a sample of some of Keith Brown's latest creations. Circassian walnut blanks were crafted into these combats for 657 and 629-1 stainless 3" revolvers which were hand engraved by Charles Wheat in the late 1980s. Thanks and keep up the great work, Keith!

Hammer spur?

It looks like the hammer spur on your 629 is shorter than the spur on the 657? is that the case? are they closely related (time of mfr)? Was that a Lew Horton goof up?

Otherwise great pair...wish that mine looked that nice!

The 629 has a standard .400" hammer while the 657 is fitted with a .500" target hammer. The Smiths came to me as an engraved pair and both have professional action/trigger jobs. The original owner may have had the 657 hammer changed, I don't know. They were apparently manufactured fairly close together as the alpha prefixes are ANC and ANE. You have a great eye for detail!

Grips

Those are beautiful revos and grips!

Those Keith Brown round butt combats are, I think, the new high standard for grips of that type. They are somewhere around $300 or more based on what I can tell, but man are they nice. I'm seriously considering saving up for a pair to put on my 686 CS-1, but even though its in excellent condition I'n not sure this gun warrants Keith Brown grips. The two amazing N-frames in this post sure do though!
