I sort of got tangled up in a very similar thread by another poster, without learning too much. Thanks for the alert on this one Kernel. I will look and see what I can find out about possible replacements for those Millet rings.

I just milled some slots into the lower portion of the rings that S&W sent me (usual Weaver style things, not .22 tip-off type.) Would have to pull a set apart to get dimensions, but it was basically "cut until you're happy" sort of deal the first time. Left a little bit of room for getting the front and rear lined up using a long hunk of one inch diameter bar stock. Then tightened the works down, but good!

I think there's one more unmodified set in the parts box. Smith sent 'em in small heat sealed pouches connected in pairs. No Millett identification at all.
