Thought I might stop by one of the local gun shops today. They had a nice M19-3 and a nice M66-2, no box and no papers and no original stocks. Crisis decision - I wanted both of them but could only choose one........what's a fellow suppose to do! I went for the M19-3 and will pick it up in two weeks. But I did the right thing and called a buddy and told him about the M66.....I'm hoping he'll buy it and take away any further temptations. Oh yea.......they were both 2-1/2 inch barrels. ~$550 each. Not a great deal but not over the top either, I dont' think. In my mind and can justify all things. Pictures added today 1/25

Thank, Dennis the B.............I chose the 19 for a coupled of reasons. I have a 19-4 so this gives me an excuse for collecting the other dashes! In addition I have read Massad Ayoob's book 'Greatest Handguns of the World' that the 66s had some issues...don't know if it included the -2s though. Another reason, like you, I love the P&Rs.

The 19-3 in 2.5" is really a great pistol for $550. Find me a new handgun, made currently, that matches the quality of that S&W, that is anywhere near that price. Good luck.

I'd vote for the Model 19 also. The rule of thumb told to me was that stainless steel guns would never have the same action as their carbon steel counterparts. The blued gun will be smoother. You do get the rust resistance of stainless steel if the Model 66 is going to be a carry gun, and they are nice, but I'd go for the Model 19. And the bluing is so pretty!

"Thumbs Up" to your choice, possibly the 66 will be in your future as well... you gotta love those .357 Snubbies =)

Can't wait to see the pics. I would have bought one and put the other on layaway but snub k frame magnums don't come up often around here (I've only seen one in the past 2 years).

I have had both the 19-3 2 1/2" and the 66. Still have my 19-3. Classic and made when they cared.

Picked up the Lunch lay away today - Pictures

Stocks not original, took the rubber pachmayrs off and added the magna's.......what you think? I like it! ;)

Very nice opaul! I recently purchased a LNIB 2.5" 19-3, and picked up a 2.5" 66-1 on Saturday. Had to have P&R for both. These Combat Magnum snubbies are my new favorites!!
