As some of you may remember, last month I was able to share that Hsguy did stay in the "Den" for a few days, and what a good time we had.

Well, this month, I was able to top that. Ms. Pawngal is here for a visit. Hot damn that lady can cook, she also enjoys doing so, it's no longer living on in carryout and TV dinners. (Kevin eat your heart out:D)

Hot darn life is good.
Be safe all

Dang! Why do you guys have to start talking about food???!! It's been years since I've had good fish and chips. I'm talking about real fish and chips... good cod, battered and fried, with some real chips...not those potato squeezings they serve at MacDonalds, served with a good malt vinegar.

In this part of the state, fish is trout...pure and simple. Nothing at all wrong with trout, but it's not the classic fish and chips.

The last real fish and chips I had was years ago at a little British pub-type place back east. This was before I married Miss Judy so it was over fifty years ago. They served excellent fish and chips, wrapped in paper, along with the best pickled onions I've ever tasted.

Well, enough of my moaning and groaning. I'm happy for Fred and Pawngal enjoying those fish and chips....even though I'm green with envy.:)

Yes, the Fish & Chips were awesome. OK. my "chips" were nice greasy real potato french fries. The fish was excellent, I suspect Cod.
Brought back memories when every bar/pub had a Friday Night all-you-could-eat fish fry. Very common in Iowa, Minnesota & Wisconsin.
I have my "cook" mode going today as it rains.

There is a fish place called the Jolly Roger in Port Clinton. Ohio. The serve Lake Erie Perch and Walleye.

We go every now and then, and I can honestly say the Perch they serve is the best.
The restaurant is always busy and most of the time there is a line outside waiting to get in.

They can always chew on Wylie the Walleye while they're waiting.
