Looking to use this in the house as a bedroom/ home defense gun as it's the only Semi auto gun I own with a rail. So I might as well make use of it and put a flashlight on it. Do any of you have recommendations for lights for this?

Edit: I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that this was the only railed pistol I own...it's the only S&W with a rail I currently own. I also have a Sig Sauer P229R ASE 9mm and a Sig P220 Elite SS SAO 10mm. I could use these as house guns but I like the SW 4006TSW CHP for this purpose. The 10mm is SAO and and possibly little to much for in house and the 229 is in my CCW rotation.

Amazon has the TLR-1 and TLR-1HL.

I have both, the TLR-1 is just a standard momentary on/off or always on function.....300 lumens which is plenty for me.

the TLR-1HL has the same features but also a strobe functions (which I see no point in) and its 800 lumens.......for home work 300 is more than enough in my opinion and the TLR-1 is much less expensive.

Both are great lights.

I have both the TLR1HL which I read the TLR1 series was the duty approved light. I also bought an olight pro valkyrie. I like the rechargeable battery on the olight and switch, but also like the intensity a bit better on the TLR. They both are about the same size and both fit securely on the rail.

I have both a TLR-1 and a few Olights and I feel like you can’t go wrong with either. 4006TSW CHP pistols have a standard pic rail, so anything will work. In contrast, most other TSW pistols have a proprietary rail so you’d want to stick with the TRL-1 or similar that offer interchangeable rail attachment bits (idk what they are called) to ensure compatibility with different types of rail formats like Glock, S&W TSW, Walther P99, etc...

I'm a big fan of the TLR-1 HL. Been carrying my 4006TSW a lot more now since I never leave the house. So far I've added the TLR, Meprolight Night Sights (that I got on sale from optics planet), and I had a custom kydex OWB holster made up by we plead the 2nd (local, great company to do business with). To help offset the weight and for efficient reloads, 2 additional 11 rounders are in an old Galco Phoenix AZ double mag carrier. Someone noted the regular TLR-1 being sufficient, however I'd rather have more light than not enough. I also like the strobe function as well on the HL version.

Hope this helps!

You might want to look at the Surefire website. I ran their X300 on my service pistol for duty as well as swat. Never had any problems. Exceptionally bright and rugged. Excellent quality control/quality assurance.

They are a little pricey but a wise man once told me, "Buy once, cry once." That served me well.

HTH.

The price for the TLR-1 runs $125 and up , Others are more money. Is this normal prices for a light or are these elevated due to the"Virus"?

I ordered the 800 lumen light as it was only $10 more than the 300 lumen light and it has a strobe.

If your 4006TSW has the riveted on rail, the Streamlight TLR-1 is the only one that I know will fit (though I'm interested in 1775usmarine's comment that on Olight will also work). It's a great light with an outstanding lifetime warranty, though I wish it had a better rail attachment system. On my 4566TSW it has come loose during firing in the past. Could be I just needed to crank it down more in that instance, but when the ranges open up here again I plan on bringing it out and doing some live fire with it on various TSW's (9-40-45).

I figured we were talking the CHP's. Can't remember how many keys came with the olight but I'm sure there's a way.

My CHP 4006TSW has integrated rail. If it doesn't fit for some reason returns are free.

I believe your options are open then, it's the riveted rail TSW's that have a specific rail slot distance requiring the Streamlight TLR.

It would be listed as SW TSW/99, and I don't think that model comes with that key (from what I saw online). I have a Olight Valkyrie PL-1 that definitely does not fit on the riveted TSW rail, good to hear that my 4006TSW CHP may be a fit for it though.

I have a chp thread where I took a pic with the olight.

I like the Olight PL-2 Mini. Very compact light with 500 lumens. Plenty bright and priced under $100.

SVT that is exactly what I ordered. Light only not the holster.

Here it is. Delivery was only 2 days.
It now has taken up residence in my nightstand. This and my 12 Gauge Ithaca Deerslayer should keep the home front secure.
