picked up a new m&p9 & installed apex fss poly trigger kit.
1st range trip shot 100 rds of blazer brass 115gr. pistol was awesome & performed flawlessly. no issues.
2nd range trip shot 100 rds of federal classic 115gr. 2 ftf (light primer strikes) brushed it off thinking it might be the ammo.
3rd range trip shot 50rds of remington umc. no issues. shot another 50rds & 3 ftf (light primer strike)
pistol was stripped down & cleaned after each range trip. lubed w/ mpro7 on 7 lube points.
anyone know what might cause the light primer strikes?

Did you open up the trigger bar loop? I'm thinking that if you inadvertently opened it up too much the sear might be releasing the striker too soon, and your striker block might not be retracting far enough to be completely clear of the striker.

Just a thought.

may have opened it up a bit too much. will make an adjustment & hopefully that would fix it. thanks!

This is the second time I've heard of light strikes like this. I'm very curious to hear how it goes after you adjust the trigger bar loop.

FSS will not cause light strikes, as the striker pull tension is not changed. However if your striker blocker timing was critically close, when the striker is moving forward, before the blocker has fully cleared, the striker could drag on the blocker, which would slow the striker speed and cause light hits. As mentioned in an earlier post, by opening the loop too much, the striker might be releasing before the blocker has fully cleared.

turns out s&w made some recent changes to the newer m&ps & apex is sending me a newer designed striker block. fingers crossed!

Please post pictures of both.
Im looking to get the kit.
My shield is 1 month old.
If there has been a change then that limits me to buying directly from Apex

Thanks
