Does anyone know if theres a grip maker making K/L frame grips out of linen micatra? VZ is making them for the J frame and I was wondering if anyone knew of another maker who was doing them for the other size frames?

Last I checked, VZ is only making J frame grips out of G10.

I e-mailed them about using linen micarta, but never received a reply.

I think that linen micarta would be a superior material to make a revolver grip. It weighs only half as much as G10 and has some give.

Micatra or G10 would be ok with me either way. I looked at Mr. Collins web site but didn't see what I was looking for. Think I'll call him.

Sorry if this is a dumb question , but who is VZ ?

Sent Don an email and he doesn't make them. Seems like a product that someone needs to make that might sell.

G10 is heavy and it is hard. It works great for a flat, panel type grip like a 1911 or a hipower, but falls short for a revolver grip.

Micarta weighs about 60% the weight of G10. It also provides a slight "grippiness" that you don't get with G10.

Try Spressor Knife Works. He sells a lot of grips on GunBroker. Here is his site and if you look over in the S&W section he does say some of the grips can be done in linen Micarta...

I have several of his grips for 1911s and they have been excellent...
