My brother just bought a box of .40 cal 140 gr (weigh actually 144 gr) lead flat nose bullets. Pardon my lack of bullet-ese, the bullets are tapered with a flat nose. He's looked in all his manuals and all his sources on the internet and can't find any references for a correct load. He's using Unique powder and if it matters shoots an XDM. Does anyone have any suggests for a load or for a source of information.

Thanks.

Magma engineering makes a 140 grain conical flat point mould for .40/10mms.

As far as loading data...Lyman #48 and #49 has data for a 150gr CFP that might give you a starting reference, or you could go to any of the handloading web sites/forums that talk about cast bullets and ask them.

My most accurate load for the 140gn tc is:
5.6gn win 231
1.125 oal
.422 crimp
