Loading for a 9mm PC

Anybody loading for a 9mm pistol carbine?
Are plated bullets(Berry's) ok to shoot in a 16" barrel?
I've loaded thousands of 9mm for pistols; just curious if the is any thing different for loading the 9mm for a carbine.

Well, I have shot loads of plated bullets in my M1 Carbine @ ~1900 FPS.
So, your 9mm should be GTG

I've loaded and shot quite a few plated bullets in my Ruger PC9: the only caveat I can really think of is watching out for potentially higher (than what the plated bullet is designed for) velocities when nearing maximun loads from the longer 16" barrel in your PC. Berrys has thick plated (TP) 9mm bullets they say are good to 1,500 fps, or so...

I have a very adequate supply of plated, fmj and jhp bullets.
That's the reasoning of asking about the plated bullets; if they are usable in the pc, that's great for plinking and just fun shooting.

My favorite...

My personal favorite is that Berrys 124gr HBFP-TP. Hodgdons has a wealth of specific load data for the RN version of that bullet. There are no less than 18 powders: ranging from mild (Clays @ 791) to wild (WIN 572 @ 1,212)!

My next reloaded 9mms will be115gr FMJ with the intent to use them in the PC9.

Sure they are! Even coated lead will be fine in your pcc.

I got a plated "Ball" RN in my 5" 9mm up to 1350 fps and there were no "Fragments" on the target but........

it was a lot more accurate at 1230 fps and lower with the different powders that I used.

A 90% load of Bullseye, Red Dot, w231 or CFEp, will not hurt this plated bullet with too high of velocity.

PCC 9mm loads

I primarily shoot Winchester NATO 9mm 124 gr. ammo in my PCC. I also handload SNS coated 124 gr bullets which are also loaded hot. I first tried using Federal 147 gr truncated cone ammo but they were a mild load and would not reliably cycle the Ruger heavy bolt. That Ruger bullet appears to be plated. As someone has already mentioned, plated bullets may be damaged at speeds exceeding 1200 fps.
