I have reloaded 45 ACP for years for various 1911's, and I have just purchased a model 625 and was wondering if I need to change the COL or anything else about what I have been doing. My current load is a 230 gr LRN over 5.0 gr of HP38, with a COL of 1.250. I cannot think of any reason why I would need to change, but thought I would ask.

Thanks...

I shoot anything in my 625's that I shoot in a 45 auto without issue. Fun also to play around with some bullets and loads that may not function reliably in the auto. 231 and Unique are favorite powders.

Oh, how true this is! I "play around" with those things too, just not with those powders! ;)

Other than a double charge of some fast powder, that M625 in 45ACP will take anything you can dish it.

That exact revolver is capable of handling the 460 Rowland, a round that launches the 230gr bullet at about 1300fps! Just sayin'

You shouldn't NEED to change anything....but the revolver ALLOWS you to play with longer OAL and heavier bullets if you wish.

Here's some of the unusual loads that can be shot out of a 625.

That's 270 grs that will clock right at 1000 fps in .45 Super brass.
