Loading magazines vertically

I am getting old(better than the alternative) but I have caught myself loading magazines horizontally and at an angle and getting aggravated with the stagger.The manual does state orient as shown in the figure 12 and 13. Maybe they should put this in red or bold face fonts for us that are "manually" or age challenged ,LOL. It is common sense but you can get complacent in thinking this is not an issue. Just loaded a hundred rounds perfectly without a stagger issue.Now I hope my JP springs rectify my FTFs after the trigger job.

He is still loading it in an angle and not vertically as shown in the manual and had an issue at 3:31 . Not saying that was his issue but it could have been. I saw that video a few weeks back and tried it and prefer to use the load assist method better, just me I guess.

Update :Ten mags loaded vertically today with the load assist and not one stagger issue .Keep that in mind not to lean the magazine.

Wait, I thought you were talking about pushing the rounds in from a vertical position then rotating them. If you are talking about holding the magazine vertically while you load rounds, that shouldn't make any difference. Just saying.

Holding the mag straight up is what I am talking about.I have a problem if I tilt the mags side to side while loading on all four of mine. Just saying it was an issue with me and now it isn't. Mag vertically just like in the manual pic if you are having a stagger problem. Try it if you are having issues.

I never hold mine vertical. Pointer and thumb on the load assist the other three hold mag against my hip at an angle. It may be a rim over rim problem instead of staggering issue. Make sure the rim of the round being loaded stops at the previous rounds rim, and doesn't jump over.

What ever works for you I guess. The butt of the mag sits on my top of my knee straight when I load and index and thumb pulling down one round deep per round. Any other way caused mine not to stagger correctly.

I've found that vertical works for me, one round at a time. If the stagger isn't right, I find that pulling the load assist down a bit and snapping it back will get the stagger right.

I've fired about 4000 rounds now through my 15-22s with almost a perfect feed history.
