locking bolt

I have a S&W 617 and i need to replace the locking bolt and spring, i took the pin out but cant get the bolt to come out, its like stuck inside the lug. any trick to do this job .HELP

I'd do this first. Using a popscicle stick, depress the locking bolt as far as it will go, then let off on the popscicle stick and let the locking bolt snap back to its resting position. A time or two, and it should come out by itself.
Be careful as it will come out forcefully and without restraint, as will the spring probably too.

old grit, oil, etc. will cause it to hang up. use some solvent to clean it then some light oil. you may have to pull it free with a dental pick or similar tool.
