Longmire

I watched 4/1 last night and was glad to see a whole fourth season. If you rate the show well there may be a 5th.
Netflix has a lot of mystery shows, some foreign w/ sub titles, and good documentaries.

I just have a feeling that getting good ratings is not going to be a problem for the Longmire series. People problems....well now that can always cause a problem. But I'm hoping for a good long run for this fine show.

I got Netflix just to watch Longmire. I don't remember any anti gun stuff in the show. I love Katie she is a motorcycle rider. She had a custom cafe bike built for her by a Texas backyard builder. It was made from a kickstart only XR600. Really cool.
I like the guns in the show. Walt's 94 Winchester looks like a pre angle eject. I can't tell if it's pre '64. And I like his 1911A1 with the stag grips. Ferg has an N frame Smith shown with target stocks and sometimes shown with smaller square butt service grips. I wonder if it's a 29, 27, or a Highway Patrolman?

I only have Wifi access out in the area where I live so video streaming eats up all of my data quick and I already get 40 gigs as it is. And when I run out ATT charges me 15 bucks for each gig. With grand kids and wife on line all the time hooking into my wifi. I am up to 50 gigs this month alone......so how about some recaps for us who can't get Netflix.

Thanks for the heads up for Longmire. Love the show, but never interested in Netflix as my cable bill is out of sight. I found a free month on my smart tv with netflix built in and took them up on their offer. Surprisingly, it worked perfect. Watched the last of season 3 to refresh my old memory and the first 2 of season 4. The show is still great and without commercials. Thanks again.
Bill

I'm sure a DVD will come out once the 4th season is finished; I'll have to wait for that, I guess. In the meantime, is there any chance of a weekly synopsis on what's happening in the show?

John

Through 3 episodes so far this season.
Nighthorse and Malaki need to go.
Any suggestions on how?

I got a look at the buttplate on Walt's '94 on one of the new shows. It's a pre '64.

Watched 5,6 and 7 last night. Barlow Connally was a bit of a surprise. Mathias and Walt look like they might be mending fences. On the other hand, Walt and Malaki are gonna bang heads sooner or later. The new deputy and the guy who got turned down are going to be the interesting twists this season, especially the guy who lost out.

Gee, I just go to Barnes and Noble and buy the books. Seems simpler, and I get to reread them. TV and movie casting seldom looks like my imagination thinks the characters should look.

A little more realistic gun use this season

They must have hired a new armorer/consultant for this season. Walt actually has his 1911 in condition one sometimes, especially when he needs it. At other times, the hammer is down.

Language is a little more adult this season. Now, you need Amazon Prime to watch seasons one through three and Netflix to see season four.

Well worth it for no commercials. Season four episodes are longer than commercial broadcast shows.

They def need more than 10 episodes a season. Took 5 nights and I'm done already. Dang.

Season 4
1. Branch's Father murders Him
2. Vic has a "Quickie" with the loaner Deputy from Cumberland County
3. Walt's hiring process for a new Deputy is a oral interview and a marksmanship test at the Range
4. Walt has a date with a Doctor (female)
5. Standing Bear takes over "Hector's" justice and is shot in the butt by Walt using a Winchester Model 94 30/30
6. Lighthorse is beginning to be a decent guy
7. Katie is hired by a large Law Firm and then fired, but is hired by Lighthorse as a Attorney for the "Res".

*** what happened to the cute blond ranch lady with the deep voice that was crazy about Walt ??

Hector and Nighthorse....

I watached the ten shows this weekend and thought it was great. I like that there is more character development in this season. Can't wait till season 5. Good job Netflix!

IIRC the show got cancelled on broadcast TV and the producers shopped it to Netflix. I'd bet you could buy it after the season is over.

I have Netflix, 9 bucks a month and nearly worth it. I am a big Katie Sackhoff fan, she seems like a real person. Not as pretentious as a bunch of the Hollywood types.

Katie Sackhoff has big fans.

sorry:D

I just watched all 10 of the new Shows.
There were a lot of twists and turns that I didn't expect.
They left a number of issues hanging. For every issue they resolved, another one evolved.
So it looks to me that they at least want to do another year.
I did like it!

"Brandt"

Thank you for the heads up. We liked the show. It had actual dialog and no robot fights, so it was cancelled. :(
Need to find out if it will be Brandt or his dad that gets shot. Don't tell me! Going to need to do the Netflix thing now.

Actually "Branch" I think.

After what I've seen on Longmire......

After what I've seen on Longmire and read in the news lately I'm staying out of Wyoming. I thought it was beautiful when I was there, but I wasn't attacked by ghost warriors, I didn't see any bodies on the side of the road, or witness any murders. Apparently the place has changed a lot.

One thing I DID see was real working cowboys. It looked exactly like a picture postcard with the water hole and the brush. The only problem was that it looked the same whichever way you turned. There's a LOT of brush in Wyoming.:D
