I forgot I had this. I don't keep good enough records to even remember when I bought it. Model 19-3 with original box and stocks. The olive wood stocks I bought for a 686 I have and didn't care for them on stainless. I kinda like them on the blue. I don't have a cleaning kit or paper for this set so I should find them to complete the package. I've never fired it and it certainly hasn't seen much use. Oh well, back in the safe. Too darned cold to shoot right now!
My only excuse for not knowing what is in the top of this safe is for the last 20 years of my working career I worked away from home during the week. I would make a purchase online, receive the firearm, stuff it in the safe and go back to work. I've been retired fo 5 years but just now cleaning out the top shelf of this safe. I changed that in the last few cold temperature days. Please have patience with me.

See? I'm like that too. Lighter wood, ivory, mother-of-pearl just don't do it for me on nickel or stainless. I do like ivory on blued guns. To me, darker wood looks better on the silver guns.

Here's my 19-3 wearing ivory.

Wow you guys forget what guns you have in the safe?

I need more guns

That was my exact thought, too. OP's safe must be big enough to walk around in. I have a M19-3, too, but I haven't managed to forget it, it's a frequently used range gun, and one of my favorites in my safe.

Along with all my other favorites. :D

I decided that I needed a 3 inch 19. Found one at a decent price or
so I thought and bought it. Looked it over and put it in box and took
it to safe. Let's see....Model 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, oh now model 19.
Let's see 2 1/2 in 3 inch !!! What! I already got one. CRS bad.
Well now I got 2. Life is good. Memory is bad.

Great find and my favorite S&W revolver for its aesthetics. Love the stocks too. You must have way more guns than I do to forget about one. I don't own a safe. I keep 32 handguns, plus some long guns, in gun cabinets hanging on the wall. I enjoy them way too much to put them away in a safe. But that's just me

I also have a 19-3. Bought it from sumdood on this forum who lives near me. The snub model 19 makes for a very desirable K frame 38 spl. I load my 357 brass to about 850 fps using fast powder and 158's. I'm telling you that makes a fine target/carry pistol. Scary accurate even at 25 yds.

Found a really sweet BHP I forgot buying last year. Or was it the year before?

I used to work with a couple who were avid (and pretty much worldclass) trap shooters. I remember one lunch we were sitting around talking guns, and he said "I'm gonna buy a Perazzi - I always wanted one." At which point his wife reached across the table and whacked him upside the head and said ". . . you mean like the pair you have in the safe that you never shoot?"
