Look what I found in the top of the safe!

Glad you found a nice surprise

I have four safes but I know exactly what’s in them

Here’s my 6 inch 19-3

I used to work with a couple who were avid (and pretty much worldclass) trap shooters. I remember one lunch we were sitting around talking guns, and he said "I'm gonna buy a Perazzi - I always wanted one." At which point his wife reached across the table and whacked him upside the head and said ". . . you mean like the pair you have in the safe that you never shoot?"

Trap shooters are like that. They burn more money on firearms then any other group of shooters that I've been around. The magic is always in the next more expensive shotgun. Been there, done that. ;)

WoW!! some beautiful guns shown here. I am envious. I am glad that you are taking such great care of these heirlooms. I have a great love for revolvers.

Annual gun safe scavenger hunt...

OK, I'll confess. Every year I open up my gun safe to take out all of my treasures, wipe them down, and give them the Ren Wax treatment. And every year I find one or two firearms that I kind of forgot about. It's not that I don't open my safe, it's just that I keep the guns that I shoot routinely (action shooting and range) in pockets on the safe door or standing in the front of the safe. Although I'm mostly an N-frame guy, I do have K-frames including a couple of Model 19s. My favorite is a 4" bbl. Model 19-3 Texas Ranger Commemorative (1973) that is a perfect fit and a blast to shoot (yes- I shoot it. I bought it used with the intention of shooting it). The other is a sweet 2-1/2" bbl. nickel Model 19-4 (1978) that is a great snubby and purty, too.

storyman,

I'll come up there in the middle of August and "help" you with the top shelf. I figure 6 months might be enough time for the "forgetfulness" to settle back in... lol
