Look what S&W 500 magnum 700 gr did to me.

I would love to make a video shooting flying clay targets with S&W 500 magnum, but can't find a place where I could safely shoot that.

I saw my friend looking at the video, wow what a power. I've only shot 9mm but I'd love to try it.

Ummm, thanks - but NO thanks. If I want my hand twisted off at the wrist I'll grab hold of some spinning machinery. At least that way I can safely let go when I've had enough!

I see people are wondering what S&W 500 magnum recoil really feels like. I was curious too but could not find this gun to try it so I purchased it. It was nothing like what you read on the net. Some say it becomes safe queen but this gun made my 1911 safe queen. 350 gr are lot of fun to shoot, then I wanted to see what kind of maximum recoil this gun could produce. I tried 700 grain absolutely maximum load possible and fired it from 4" model. You can see it for yourself what can this revolver do. S&W 500 magnum, 700 grain max load. - YouTube

Lets look at the errors in this post.
1. 500 SW was developed with 8 inch barrel
2. Firing load for an 8 inch barrel in a 4 inch barrel
3. Trying to hold that amount of recoil with a weak grip
4. Trying to convince us that a 500 sw has made a 45 acp a safe queen. It is likely because his wrist is to sore from firing the 500 SW.

Gump said it best - Stupid is is stupid does,

He is. His "horsepower" description of certain guns and calibers is something I've stolen from him.

My 460V is enough fun for me. ;)

240gr XTP Mag pushed by 48gr of H110.

Sorry about the "play" button in the middle of the pic. Pic is a screen shot of a vid and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Well, here's a pro to show you how it's done (again):
S&W .500 MAGNUM RECORD 5 shots in 1 SECOND in high speed with Jerry Miculek - YouTube
Pay attention, son.

That is sweet.....

Hi is pure talent. What he does is inspiring. I give him huge credit for even attempting to shoot 500 magnum rapid fire. I would love to learn from him what he does. I personally go for accuracy, I like target shooting. If I didn't get this gun I'd never imagine that it would be possible to shoot one hole with such a powerful gun. I love it. I would call S&W 500 Magnum "The King" of production revolvers.

If a .44 Magnum can't kill it, I don't want to meet it!

I also recently read a post on another forum from a guy who advocates using a .500 for concealed carry.....ummmmmm no

That would be ME!

I love to carry my 4" M500...carried IWB with a strong belt for support and hug it in close, loose shirt over...can't nobody tell it's there. And, there is a HUGE difference in stopping power between a cartridge that delivers 350-450 lb-ft of KE versus one that pushes 1,800-2,000 lb-ft with a "smallish" 350 grain slug. M500 for CC? Absolutely!

No different than shooting my Magnum Research BFR in 45/70 with a 550 gr Creedmoor bullet and 70 grs. of the holy black!

You are a better man than I, my old beat, battered hands and wrist have enough trouble with a ,44 magnum these days.
