That's a beauty, like the frt sight..

The only problem I have with mine is that it's so great to carry I tend to leave everything else at home. I think some of the other "kids" should be allowed out once in a while.

I carry a 340PD in my front pocket and a Glock 27 on my ankle. I forget I'm carrying either of them.

If I shoot much more than 10 rounds out of the 340 it will chew up the flesh on my shooting hand. I practice wearing an unlined leather glove to protect from the sharper edges.

You'd think that S & W would have rounded out the edges of the trigger and done something to smooth out the edges of the trigger guard, but they are too sharp. The trigger guard is like a knife.

In a real-life situation you won't notice the pain until the following day.

I opted for the 640, being all steel I like having the option of shooting 357's, but only carry 38 +P.

I picked up a hardly used one (less than 100 round count) with the box and all the papers and a Fobus paddle holster for less than $400.00 out the door.

I carry a 340 M&P, IWB in a Remora holster...and it has got to be the most comfortable gun I have ever carried.

I can literally carry it in sweatpants (around the house) and the Remora holster clings to me...no belt= no problem.

I want to check out the new 640 Pro as well....all steel in that great DAO format, with three dot night sights! and .357 magnum capable...;)

The S&W M-642 is their best seller with good reason. Bud's gun shop (Discount Guns for Sale - Buds Gun Shop) still has them for $361 delivered.

It's my hot weather go to piece; corrosive resistant, light weight, snap resistant, and accurate.

Slapping a brick wall as hard as your can 5 times is about as much fun as shooting .357's in a light weight J-frame...I'd stick to .38 specials.

Even better price here Moon ;)
