Looking at a 28-2 4"

Hey Guys,

Is there anything about this model that I should look for in terms of defects?
I am told the revolver is at 93% condition. $375.00

Just make sure timing and lock-up are good,no bad flame cutting,no buggered screws and no pushoff. It really doesn't matter if it appears to have been shot a lot (ghost imprints on the recoil shield),the damn things are built like tanks. I don't think you can wear one out. That's not a bad price OTD.

It would have to be pretty messed up for me to NOT buy it for that price. Great guns. Do the usual revolver checkout, and see if it passes. If not, just wait for another one.

If it is solid and tight, get it quickly, then shoot it forever. Cosmetics are not of importance if it is a shooter. And, you will find no better 'shooter'.

And that's a good question.

Anyway.. a good N frame at under 400 is always a buy.

There have many references here, about 28's getting more expensive. I bought a 28 no dash in Dec. for $450. It is at least 95% in my opinion. (not an expert) Providing the gun that you describle is sound and functional, JUMP ON 1 AT THAT PRICE! My 28 is a 6" and shoots great for me. The only problem I had with it was occaisional light primer strikes. Got the answer here, strain screw was not tlght enough. Last trip to the range, it functioned perfect! Bob
