Looking at a purchase 460V

Local shop has a 460V soon available for sale. Got to check it out, very clean, in case with tools, (keys for IL), test cartridge. Looks brand new. Its the 460V with 5" bbl.

Any thing I should be aware of wary of? I like the ability to shoot 45long colt, 454 casull and 460 out of it.

sorry not sure of the year but should get to check it out next week. Value?

I used to have that very gun, sold it because it would kill my wrists. I would wake up the next morning wondering if I slept on my wrists the whole night bent backwards and would remember that I was shooting the 460 the day before. For what it's worth it was a show stopper at the range. First round fired, people would stop shooting and wonder who was shooting the cannon. By the second shot half the lanes would be clear standing behind my lane just wondering what I was shooting. Also, I could not imagine carrying something so heavy as a woods gun, would prefer to carry a 44 mag for that. To each there own though, I sold mine to a guy about a year ago who was collecting large caliber guns and the 460V was going to be one of his jewels.

Value?

Monetarily any thing less than $1000 seems right. From a shooting standpoint .460, 454 Casull and 45 Colt. Three guns in one seems like a great value driven reason to buy the most powerful handgun in the world. Yea, I know the .500 is technically larger but the .460 has the ability to shoot straighter at longer distances.

Hi John...very cool gun..I just bought one two days ago from buds discount guns..cant wait for it to get here..they are a blast to shoot. You will love it. I could not find a used one for a good price so I bought new..hope you got a good deal. keep us posted how you like it....I am really into cool holsters I like a high ride so it's away from my leg while on horseback...this link is to the holster I am ordering for the 460v. Talked to them and they do the BH-55 for most guns..Hard to find a nice high ride for a big revolver. Plus I always go for the thumb break style.Rich
