Looking at buying an M&P Shield

I just ordered that TR4 as well because I have a similar one for an HK USP that I like. However, I did notice today, if you want a cheap one, Cablela's has the Lasermax one for $53.88. Not as instant on as the CT or Armalaser, but much less expensive on sale:
LaserMax Centerfire™ Pistol Laser : Cabela's

I saw in some reviews on here that a few people found the lasermax wasn't very good. I'm still looking at reviews of the TR4 and the CT. I like the fact that the TR4 has an on/off switch. I'm surprised CT doesn't have one. The grips for my 38 had an on/off switch on the bottom. I also like not having to take it off to change batteries. I'm going to read more reviews but I'd appreciate it if you posted back once you've had a chance to try it out.

The TR7 for the USP is extremely nice. I originally got it because CT didn't make one for the USP full size. But having got it, the fit and finish is every bit as good as CT, surprisingly so having tried some generic eBay lasers. You can also squeeze the grip however hard you can and have no fear you're going to ruin the on button, because there is no "on" button (works by light touch and conductivity, not pressure, above the middle finger.) I think that aspect will prove helpful for recoil control, as I try to squeeze that grip pretty firmly. Can't speak to its long term reliability as I haven't shot that gun much since I put it on, but so far so good.

For the TR4 and Shield, I sent a shell back into Alien Gear to swap for a Shield/CT version and will mold that one with a little heat to accept the TR4 (very similar to start). I did this to an Alien Gear shell meant for the USP without a laser, and now the TR7 mounted to the USP works fine. If that isn't great, I'll look elsewhere or try and do a simple Kydex one myself, as a project.

I ordered the TR4 throught Optics Planet on Labor Day with a 10% off coupon, for under $100 shipped (not here yet though.)

slide release

hi....the only time the slide release button needs to be used is if the slide is locked back and you want to release it forward with the empty mag in the gun.....and even then i usually push the mag release button, let the empty mag drop down a little bit then pull back a hair on the locked back slide....easier than using slide release button......Mike
