Looking for a Compact .357 Magnum for Winter Carry

This is as compact of a .357 as I own; does well in a Bianchi Pistol Pocket.

I have a 3" model 60, like the one you are considering. I like this revolver very much, and find it very packable. I also just acquired the 2 1/8" model 60, and with the shorter barrel and fixed sights, it is even that much more concealable. Either of these would work very well. wyatte

Cons: Same as 2.5" but now with an extra .5" of barrel to conceal. Holster selection may also be limited with a 3" k-frame.

What are your thoughts on these three guns? If you think I should go with either of the 686's, should I go with a 6 or 7-round cylinder?

Two quick points...

1. Yes, the 3" will make it harder to find a holster, but I think it would be worth it to get the full length extractor rod.

2. A 686 like you pictured is an L frame, not a K frame. If you want a K frame, you would be looking for a 19 or 66.
