Looking for a new revolver

I shouldn't repeat internet rumors when I don't have all the facts. There are significant differences in the new "Magnum" K-frames, but I don't know all the details and shouldn't just assume they're building them on a L-frame platform. Apologies.

Thank you for all the replies, I believe I am going to look for a model 27 or 28

When he said "new" I assume he refers to current production, not older guns. The new 66 is a 4.2". I'm not sure about the 686s, whether they make a 6" or not. I believe there is a 6.5" 27 Classic available. If the OP is interested in an older gun, lots of options.

If mainly firing a 357 mag I like the 686 or comparable. My 66 and 19 shoot them well but they see more 38's. Gp 100 is a good selection too. All suggestions are great guns find what suits you new or old and enjoy

A 27 or 28 are both great choices, IMO. And don't confine your choices to the 27-2 or 28-2 and earlier either. The 28-3 is probably a lot more rare than the earlier models since they discontinued them only 4 years or so after the engineering change to 28-3. And the 27-4 and later models also received the radiused stud package of the Endurance package. But none of that is really needed for the 357 Mag like it is for the 29s.

Same suggestion as other replys. If you want a blue for 586. If stainless suits you go 686" 6" will be a better range gun in my opinion.

I have a 6" 28 no dash. Great range gun! BUT, my 586, and 686 are super too. If you did not care about .357, consider a Model 14. I shot my -3 Sunday with wadcutter handloads. Accurate as all get out. Recoil is next to nothing. Bob
