looking for ID on ? pre model 27 ?

I have a possible pre model 27 revolver is what appears very nice condition.

it is hand Eject
5 screw
n frame
.357 magnum
serial number S 109268

ill try and post pictures

it unfortunately has hogue grips

all bluing is very good to excellent

also interested in potential value

S 109268 would date it in the 1954-55 period, so it would be a pre-M27.

I think I see a factory refinish date on that grip frame.....

In photo 2, about 2/3 of the way down of the forward side of the grip frame (usually covered by the stocks), there appear to be four numbers stamped there. Are there also letters stamped on the lower back corner of the same side of the grip frame, possibly R-Bi?
