I have an M&P 40c and noticed that S&W offers tuning for the action, was wondering what this intails and if it is worth having done? Performance, life of the firearm and all that.

Not sure of the parts, but IMO APEX parts will do everything to your MP that needs to be done. I had an APEX sear ( I think-several years ago) on 2 of my MP's. Great difference in trigger pull. Smoother. Good luck

Apex kit will tune it better than SW IMO and you can do it yourself.

I did it for my 40c and super happy with the results

What didn't you like about the S&W tune and what does the APEX stuff do that the S&W tune doesn't do?

I have a 9L Pro CORE and while the action was better than my stock 9, putting the Apex FSS was a real game changer. The "tuning" smooths up the parts (which will also happen the more rounds you shoot) while the Apex parts change the geometry of the parts. What you end up with is a shorter trigger pre and post travel along with a shorter reset. I still have the stock trigger in my EDC 9c, and my other FS 9.

Actually, spiders crawl the web looking at webpages for search engines. So most of the time you see that a post has been 'viewed' so many times, it's probably just being hit by spiders..... ;)

Welcome!!

I touched up my M&P45c trigger myself and I like it now. All my other M&P's have serviceable triggers, nothing spectacular though.

If I were to want a great trigger I'd start with the Apex. It has a huge fan club!! :D

.

Thanks for the help guys! So, next question, what do i need to get/do for what I want to achive?

1. While I am happy with the lbs on the trigger squeeze, I am not to excited with the over travel and reset in the trigger.

2. The trigger squeeze to me seems real gritty and i'd like to remove that and make it a bit of a smoother squeeze.

3. Also looking to reduce sight travel.

It is my understanding that the APEX kit will fix those issues for you. People have also stated that the grittiness will smooth out with enough rounds through the barrel. I can't say that I have experienced that yet as my 9c only has about 350 rounds through it so far. (I have had it less than 2 weeks.)

Look up Burwell trigger job for the M&P. There are videos that will show you how to smooth out the trigger. Overtravel is a little harder to take out without changing the trigger itself.
