That serial number is off a Dan Wesson revolver, not a Smith & Wesson

I do not understand why someone had to tell you the manufacturer of the firearm. About 1/4 of an inch above the serial number it says Dan Wesson.

I responded to your other post with the year of manufacture, 1992.
