I'm in FL (CC only) and not a big guy (5'8", 180). After trying out some "sport belts" and even a G2 Urban Carry, I'm not sold on these being best for me.

I don't like the harder/molded holsters I have tried as they dig when I sit/move (I play with my kids, work around the house, sit at a desk, drive, etc.) and they will scuff up the pistol with repeated training/use.

Im thinking something like a Remora or even a nice leather (possibly with adjustable cant/belt clips) may be more for me. Does anyone make something like a Stealthgear StealthGearUSA - Holsters, Mag Carriers & More SMITH AND WESSON M&P Shield 9mm/.40 NO ACCESSORY VENTCORE Holsters - Holsters but with a leather holster pocket?

As there are a million options, I am curious to see what others recommend for a "Softer IWB holster".

Thanks in advance and pics would be great!

I use the Remora and the Sticky. I'm 5'7" at 180 and these work good for me. I don't think I will ever go back to a Kadex style holster for the reasons you mentioned

I have the typical drawer full of holsters. Some are good with certain clothes or certain times of the year (due to weather). Some are very uncomfortable when sitting or trying to get your hand in your pockets etc. , etc. Always seem to like them for awhile then in certain situations they are uncomfortable or print too much. Good with a sweatshirt but too noticeable with just a t-shirt. Anyhow I recently bought a belly band holster. Totally happy with it. Clocks any where . Doesn't print. Hold 2 extra mags. I carry at 9-10 o' clock . Nice and snug and doesn't show. Wish I'd of tried one of these before my others.

There is an endless list of possibilities for leather holsters. The ones I have bought from are - Winthrop, Don Hume, Chief Jason, Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Tucker, Jackson, Lobo, TT Gunleather, DeSantis, Galco, Front Line, Drew's Dog, Simply Rugged, Gould & Goodrich, UBG and can recommend all of them. I did an extensive Google search for my holsters and placed the in a folder in my Favorites. Whenever I need a holster, I scroll through it to see which one is next.

Galco and Bianchi have good products. I'm currently working on breaking in a Bianchi #100 Pro. Beyond that Barsony makes some very nice ballistic nylon holsters for the Shield. I use them all depending on need. Good luck in your hunt.

Remora or Sticky will serve you well. They can be positioned anywhere around your waist, and are soft and easy on the finish. Best of all is the price, Sticky at around $25 and Remora around $35. If you get the Remora, they send a free mag holder, shooting glasses, and a set of ear plugs along with your order. They also make a tuckable model.

I have been thinking about getting a sticky holster for my Ruger LC9s do they stay in place? And do they have to be against your skin or will they work with a under shirt too?
I currently use a alien gear holster and it works really well but would like something I can use with out a belt.

I have the Stingray. It's the only one I use since receiving it. Three of my coworkers also ordered and use one as well.

I use a n82tactical.com tuck-able for my Shield 9mm. I find it very comfortable. Holds the firearm very well.

I will second the N82. I have had two of them. One for my Ruger LC9 and one for my Shield. I got rid of the LC9 but kept the holster in case I ever get another gun that it will fit. The one for my Shield is going on two years old and the ONLY ONE I USE now.
Here in Florida, the soft backing makes it very comfortable to carry in the heat and it keeps the gun away from the body sweat.
My uniform of the day is shorts and "T" shirts and it conceals nicely!

I use the DeSantis Cozy Partner with my shield, been carrying it for about 6 or 7 months, and I dont even know I have it on most of the time...

recenly got my carry permit... and I just picked up a .40 cal shield for my 1st carry gun. Looking for a good everyday holster that's comfortable to wear... I don't want to end up w/ a drawer full that are "OK" in some situations.. like I read about all over the place.. LOL.. Seems like everyone has their favorites for one reason or another.... this almost worse that "which bullet is best"

Thanks everyone.... I'm gonna check out the cozy partner and the N82 as those look like what I want in a holster!

40 shield here with a remora holster. If you go remora make sure you get the full sweat shield (it's tall enough that the gun doesnt touch much skin). With loose shorts or pants it will not stay put well. If your jeans or shorts are snug enough to stay up on their own then a remora should stay put.
Be prepared to use a belt at times

I just got a Sticky holster and I'm amazed at how well it works and is so comfortable. I wore it yesterday while wearing draw string shorts. Didn't budge sitting, standing even laying down. Inside the holster was my Ruger LC9s. Another I recommend Is Alien Gear Holsters.

Good luck!

I second and third the opinions on the Remora holster. I initially used a Blade-Tech Kilpt (AIWB), and found that it pinched in certain seating and movement positions. The Remora is now my holster of choice.
I'm 6'1" 255lbs, with a muffin top waistline. So for me, the the soft holster works well.

Your results may vary. :-)
