Looking for reference material

If I can't get production numbers, where can I find descriptions of each dash change and/or production years? I am new to collecting S&W's even though I had some in the 1970's. Will the STD Catelog of S&W give me these? I just bought the History of S&W that I am reading. Thanks.

The Standard Catalog of S&W will have that...it's an excellent book.
