Even the black ones are stainless steel.
A lot of guys just polish their own.

There have been a few threads around here on the subject.

Might save yourself a few bucks to do it yourself.

They will look a lot better glass beaded, silver stainless rather than high polish, IMO.

I have see some very nice mirror finishes Stainless steel guns and slides that I like too.. I kicked myself years ago for not getting a Colt 1911 commander in SS with a ramped barrel and was fully polished to a mirror finish for $550 in 1994-95 used.. Depends on what you like and what your going to use the gun for.. I like the bead blasted finish for a everyday CC gun as it won't show the wear as much.. In any case it takes time and know how to take scratches out the right way and blend the finish.. Get what you like best if you have a choice.. George

The last time I looked into it S&W would beat blast an M&P slide in their "Precision Gunsmithing" department for $110. I am sure you can find it done cheaper elsewhere, but you won't find anyone who can go the extra mile if something goes horribly wrong. If you know what I mean.

I could do it for free in 3 minutes if it's striped and sanded to a ready to blast. :) It's a fun quick process.

Most gun shops can do it quickly too but will charge you at least $40-50 or more.
