Looking for the ULTIMATE carry revolver!

We carry a gun because we think we just might need to use it. If we do
need to use it, it may be tied up in an evidence locker for a long period of
time. Therefore, the ultimate carry gun should perhaps be one that is not
particularly valuable and/or easily replaceable. Of course the gun we carry
should also be totally reliable. Here are a couple of examples:
At left, Colt's Agent with bobbed hammer .38 Spl. DAO.
2nd from left, Agent in Black Hills lizard high ride pancake.
3rd from left, Charter's Undercover .38 Spl.
4th from left, Charter in Wolfram Blazer with dog ear.

If an armed encounter occurs and I save my or my family's lives I really couldn't care less about the firearm afterwards. My family is worth more than a Registered Magnum or a Wilson Supergrade. My thought is carry what you are proficient with and that can get the job done.

Since I've retired from LE I have to adjust my mindset...my firearm is to get me and the family safely away from a situation, not necessarily to run to the gunfire.

Im an OWB guy and leather to boot. My ultimate carry wheel gun right now is my M69 with the 2 3/4" barrel stoked with 44spl. I also have two speed strips ready to go, one with 6 more 44spl and one with 44 mag. I like the size and weight. Lighter than my 1911s and very shootable. Im a fan of big slow and heavy rounds.

Which is why you should have a back up to your carry gun..................

I've got 3" 66s (total cost $865) and 2 3" 65s ($ 800)......................

I agree. My gun being confiscated is the least of my worries if something that bad ever happens.

I now have a Custom worked 625-8 .45ACP: Full trigger and action job consisting of the Apex Evolution IV parts kit and a level IV ICORE action work, chamfered cylinder, Hi-Vis replacement front sight and fully adjustable rear sight, bead blasted stainless finish. It fully exceeds my greatest expectations.
