Hello. I am looking to purchase an extra cylinder assembly for my 686 for a 9mm conversion. I will most likely purchase new. Looking on both Brownell's and MidwayUSA it lists as a "Cylinder Assembly". Does anyone know if this is just the cylinder or is it the entire assembly (cylinder, extractor, rod, springs, etc.)? Thank you for the help.

Hi, Addict -

There's a used 686 cylinder & extractor on Gunbroker for $75. Enter "Smith Wesson 686 cylinder parts" on GB's search function & it should come up.

HTH,

I just got one from Brownells. Price is good and it comes with extractor and cylinder which is all you need.

Hopefully yours will be a drop in fit. Sometimes you have to fit them to the gun.
