Any ideas?

I've been looking at the Troy Industries Claymore & Medieval models, both have good looks but I want to know wqhich would be better for limiting the barrel rise.

I'm open to other options but I like the fact that these have aggressive tips which can be used for an improvised breaching device.

I'm going to try the Jerry Miculek comp. Have read some good reviews on it and at $50 I feel I don't have much to lose.It may not be as cool looking as some of the others but function is what I'm after.

Looks pretty cool to me. In fact I think my friend has one of these in stainless.......................

Yes it does look like the Jerry Micuek comp but at a slightly higher price point

I would bet they both perform about the same...

Some other options:

Yankee Hill Phantom. Effective, inexpensive, and it looks cool. This is advertised as a combo flash suppressor and comp.

AAC Non-mount Single-chamber. Adds minimal length, and reviews say it's effective. I think it looks really good, even if it doesn't have "teeth" on the end to barrel thump zombies. ;)

Also I hear that the AK style comps work quite well. Although inexpensive, I find thm ugly.....

"F-ugly" is a better word Rob, although I'm not going for looks as a prerequisite, they're just too damn ugly to tarnish the overall gun look. They also look very long..................

I have the Rainier Arms XTC one on several ARs, including my M&P15OR. I also have the PWS FSC556--both are great at recoil reduction, muzzle rise, and fast follow-up engagements. Note thqt both also send a wicked shockwave and spray across shooters close on your right and left.

The Rainier XTC is $57.

Thanks bud! That one does look good too and the price sounds very reasonable.

In a couple of carbine courses we fired pretty close to each other and the XTC and PWS FSC556 were well liked by shooters but not appreciated by anyone standing next to those of us who had them. Sound and gases tend to vent to the sides very effectively....

Very convincing. I'm going to have to look into it. Thanks
