Looks like a CS9 mag. Made from a 39 mag.

I grabbed this recently, but dont have a CS9 to try it in.
It appears to be a model 39 magazine that was expertly trimmed, then chromed. I assumed this predates the CS9 and was potentially made for a Devel pistol, but that would then fit in a 3913. Well it doesnt.
The pics show it next to a model 3913 8-round mag.
This holds 7 rounds of 9mm. Whoever made it did as good a job as I would have done. Better maybe.
If anyone has a CS9 mag and 3913 mag and can measure the difference, I would appreciate it.

measured along the back of the magazines (metal body only).
From the bottom edge of the body to the cutout at the top where the slide rides to pick up the next round I get:
3913 - 4.15"
CS9 - 3.85"

Hope this helps.

I still can't imagine why this mag was made, maybe just to make a slightly flatter-bottomed CS9 mag? Many folks on the forums here have accomplished the same thing with a regular CS9 mag and a Kahr MK9 baseplate, perhaps whoever made this one wasn't aware of that option.

Either way, it looks like a nicely done project by whoever made it. Interested to see how this actually looks in a CS9.

IIRC all the Devel mags had a finger rest on their basepads. mbliss57 may be able to shed more light on the Devel mags.

The mag in question may be from a Trapper Custom Scorpion, model 39 conversion. Although, IIRC, those mags were usually blue. Interesting mag squidsix! Regards 18DAI

You might be on to something 18.
An image search of the scorpion pistol give this image:
With two magazines just like this.

squidsix I went on the big auction board and did a general search for "Devel". Top of the 1st page, on the right is a "7 round Devel magazine".

Looks pretty close to what you have there. And there is no finger rest either. Might just be a Devel mag. But didn't he always mark the baseplates with a stylized "Devel" ?

Seeing the current prices for Devel, Trapper and ASP pistols makes me appreciate my CS9 even more!
;) Regards 18DAI

Using Tom45's method .....
My "factory" 7rd flush fit (steel base plate) 3913 mags measure 4.0640"

As an aside Novak made some flush fit all steel mags for the early 4516s......

stopped making them cus it was too much work for a price point to sell.

I remember that, and made some flush fit mags for my 4516.
I have one 7-round flush 3913 mag, and this one is definitely shorter.
When Jeppo get this one in the mail, hopefully he will give us a photo.

The magazine fits almost perfectly (maybe 1/2 mm or so long). It loads 7 rounds but there isn’t room for the spring to depress further so a fully loaded magazine won’t seat with the slide in battery. With the slide locked back, the magazine seats correctly and all 7 rounds cycle properly (at least with snap caps). This means you can’t chamber a round and then top off the magazine. It’s 7+0 or 6+1.

I like it.

Nice....... IMO what the CS9 needed to be "better" than the 3913 w/ 7rd flush fit mag!!!!

I finally had some time for myself tonight and went through my favorite searches. Looks like there is more of “them.” Same including the butcher block.

I’m sure this isn’t new information to most here but I thought I’d share anyway.
