I picked up a Shield 9mm this week in a trade for a Beretta PX4 Sub Compact. I got the shield and 150 rounds of hollow point for the trade. I am loving this gun. It shoots so much better than the PX4. My wife and I both had problems with the short sight radius on the PX4 which is about an inch shorter than the shield. I got the shots in somewhat of a group but nothing as good as the shield. I already had the M&P 40 and love it so this makes a nice addition. The below target was at 25 feet, not perfect but it will due for me.

And your M&P family will continue to grow.
Everyone must have at least four.
Ask me how I know.

I have a Shield in 40. Since I also have a Glock 23c, it only made sense when it comes to reloading. May I also say that darn Shield shoots just as accurate as my Glock; who would have thought it!

If you turned that target upside down, that's about what I got the first time I fired my Shield 9. My hits were mostly low with two in the black, but what an improvement over the "groups" I had been posting with my Ruger LC9! It's great to have confidence that you can hit what you are aiming at with your carry pistol.

Ray, I'm not sure about that. LOL the older I get the harder it is to see the front sight and get it in focus. And heck I'm only 46.

Roger you are right, I would love to get the Pro 5.

Murphy, in my hands the M&P shoot better than the Glocks I used to have. I just could not get my big mits to fit on the Glocks very well.

Turkey, my friend has the LC9 and all though I'm a big Ruger fan I don't care much for that one. All though with the Gallaway trigger improvements it does make it a much better gun. It took my friends down a pound or two and decreased the travel by half. I would still choose the Shield over it though.

Glad you are enjoying your Shield Howie...I am in the same boat and LOVING my Shield!!! I was waiting for the post-recall XDs 9mm to come out but that could be a loooonnnnggggg time away, so I picked up a post-recall Shield and don't think I need the XDs now... 😊 Happy Shootin!!

Same here, by far the best firearm to date I have purchased is the Shield 9. Now I need a 9 or .40 compact to round out my M&P group :D. Congrats on the purchase.

Just picked up Shield 40 today will see how I like it. 3rd M&P so pretty sure I will love It as good as the others. Been carrying a 40c with the colder weather here In Michigan now. I know just in the past couple of hours that I have been carrying it, sure feels better IWB. Hopefully get out back and shoot it today or tomorrow.

I have both the 9 and the 40 Shield and love them both. I was always a Beretta man, but these Shield's are hard to beat.

As you can see I'm a Ruger fan, but sold my LC9 and moved to a Shield. Galloway makes some nice stuff, but it can't hide the sh!t-kick you get from an LC9.

You don't have to be old.......

Bad vision doesn't just fall in the realm of the old. I've had terrible vision since I was a child. Cataract replacements didn't restore my vision.... they improved it.:)

I'm a huge Ruger fan too, just not the SR and LC line. Even though they are great guns they just don't fit as well as the M&P. And the LC9 does not shoot near as well for me as the Shield.

New poster and Shield owner here. Took my new 9mm Shield to the range for the first time tonight. Shot about 200 rounds of WWB 115gr FMJ, Federal 115gr FMJ, WWB 147 JHP, and Speer Gold Dot 124 +P JHP ammo with only one issue, a stove pipe. The Shield shoots well and is so easy to conceal. It's a great compromise between my LCP and my Glock 17. It's nice to find a product that actually exceeds expectations.

If you really like your stock 9mm Shield then go to burwellguns.com and learn to improve the sear on your Shield. By simply carefully doing a little work on the sear, I shortened trigger travel, reset and trigger weight. I liked my Shield before. Now I love it.

they are a great little gun. I have 500 rounds through mine so far without any problems.

I just got my 40 shield tonight and from what I can tell it is going to be a lot of fun to shoot, I have the larger SD40VE with the Apex Trigger job and it is a load of fun, but the trigger on the shield is pure butter next to the SD40.

I picked up a Shield last week because there was no telling when I would get my XDS 9 back form recall. I love my Shield. From what I'm hearing online the Shields popularity has increased drastically over the last 2 months. My local LGS says most new buyers are XDS users who are tired of waiting. He can't keep them in stock.

That could be. I was listing to Gun Talk and they had a rep on fro. XD. He said they did not have a fix in place before the recall, they are still working on it but not sure how long turn around will be.
