Just about anything that is polymer-safe (READ THE LABEL!!) will do just fine. most folks use of the CLP formulations.

The one thing NOT to use is WD40. While it does clean, it is neither a lubricant nor a protecter for firearms.

Clean as you would any other firearm... Wipe everything dry... Add a thin layer of grease (personal preference) to the bolt rails... Shoot and enjoy!

I have been using Militec-1 on all my firearms and am very pleased with it.

make sure you take the bolt apart and clean and lube the slides. That's where most of the scratchy noise comes from when running dirty. I use weapon shield and clp to lube and milcom cleaner / degreaser to clean.. but I'm sure you'll hear a lot of different suggestions.

I've been using Otis 085 Ultra Bore On my MP15-22 and MP15A. I went to PSA to get some CLP but they were out so the guy there recommended this. Works just fine.

Is CLP safe for the Mp 15-22? I've read the label on the CLP can and it does not state polymer safe anywhere.

Sir, your M&P 15 22 is so special and unique, that only the finest lubricants that NASA uses on the space shuttle will suffice.

just trying to get some ideas. i'm not familiar with gun oils and this is my first polymer gun. i want to protect my investment and keep it running like new. so if you don't have anything helpfull to say then simply don't post anything. thanks to all the helpfull posts from everyone else.

I've been using Hoppes for about a year now with no issues.
