IIRC about 15-20 years ago there was a recall on surplus CBC ammo. Some very high pressures and blown up guns. I had a case of it at that time. I believe the importer made it good but it was a long time ago and I'm not certain.

I've heard of that. Unfortunately this was a recent 2010 vintage, it shot fine in everything BUT The savage with no pressure. Brass length was 2.02x+ when I measured, way over max trim spec. So I believe the neck was sticking in the tigher savage chamber.
