M&P 15-22 Ejecting issue

Have a new M&P15-22 that has a big issue ejecting on Federal bulk. From what I gather on other threads here, that ammo should work fine. Haven't tried any other ammo yet. Wanted to check here first.
Just will not recycle.........

To recycle the M&P15-22 it needs to go on the blue box or bag marked Plastic and put on your curb the day they pick up the trash.

Are you having a problem with the rifle? Failure to ______ (fill in the blank)? Feed? Fire? Extract? Eject? What? "Recycle" doesn't help us.

.22LR weapons are very often ammunition sensitive.

Sounds like the ejector has been tweaked. Clean the rifle, try another ammo (CCI), load magazine carefully, send back to S&W if problems persist.

Yep sounds like it needs the tweak. Think there are threads on it here or S&W can fix. Just make sure mags are getting loaded correctly as well. Rim in front of rim and staggered.

Broke it down. The video thats on you tube says the ejector should have a small amount of space showing between the the ejector and the bolt. It already has that amount. It does appear the only a corner of the ejector is catching the rim of the spent round. Unless anyone has other ideas, probably need to send it to S&W.

clean chamber ( have you been using lead only bullets )

try hyper velocity rounds....stingers , super max ( original spring set for hyper velocity )

check for blue spring on top of bolt ( early models had a heavy spring,,, this caused lots of issues with bulk ammo )

remove bolt and spray wash bolt with wd40 ,,, work springs and ejector ,,,,, re-oil bolt

wipe down rails with light oil

rimfire ammo is dirty.... keep bolt and barrel face and rails clean

I checked my bolt to ejector and the ejector is touching the bolt ever so lightly, but touching. It came that way from the dealer. My M&P shoots everything, CCI, Winchester and even Remington without issues. I have blue spring on the bolt, I lightly cleaned and oiled the mag and mag lips. You ejector may be to low missing the rim of the case, just flipping it upwards causing your stovepipe and FTE issues.

Don't do this!!! There should be NO oily lubricant is or on magazine parts. All that does is attract unburned power and other shooting debris and will make this worse. At the very most, use a little DRY graphite on the follower.

Majorlk, sorry but I didn't expand on the mag part, clean it well, with a rag and a few drops of oil wipe down the lip, then wipe it with a dry rag. I've never had any build up on my mag caused by doing this, but I also clean my equipment after field use. You are correct the mag should not be oily at all, but wiped down with an oily rag will not hurt it at all.

There's no need to use oil on the inside or follower of any magazine, especially polymer mags - they are self-lubricating. There's even less reason to put it on the outside; they don't rust or corrode. If you feel you simply must wipe them down with something, get a silicone rag.

I do have the blue spring. Boy that guy is stiff. I had thought that could be the issue as well as cleaning the chamber. Not that many rounds fired, but then like you said, 22 ammo is dirty. Going to clean the whole thing then back to the range. it all makes sence as the first trip to the range had no issues. Merry Christmas folks!

Clean the extractor. While the rifle is blow-back and doesn't need the extractor to extract when firing (it's blown out of the chamber) the extractor does hold the case until the case strikes the ejector. If it falls off the extractor before then the case will commonly stove pipe and leave the case in the chamber.

This can also happen with the bolt "short stroking." Lube the bolt rails with CLP (never grease). And use so-called High Velocity ammunition.
