Traded a Sig p226 9mm from 1990 boxed and papered with test target (see pic attached of Sig but did not have the correct grips or mags as per the Sig forum) today for what I believe to be an uncommon ( and I say uncommon because I feel rare is a gun where there were only 500 or less produced ie: Lew Horton's). Have 700 into it as I paid 650 for the Sig, kicked in $50 plus a box of American Eagle 9mm which I had no money into the ammo.
Seems they have sold for 800 or higher. Seller claims less than 300 rounds through it. Came with box numbered to the gun, 100 rds. of .22 LR, grip as shown as well as a Hogue grip. Also an upgraded charging handle. The grip on it is nice as it has as beavertail built into it.
Could not find too many of these available. Thought it was pretty cool though. Called S&W today, and was produced 04/20/10.
It seems as if this firearm was only produced for one year as S&W got alot of flak as per the rep regarding it's apperance as a assault weapon.
Does anyone know the actual total production of this model? Once again, thanks to all who respond, God Bless America and have a very Merry Christmas.
