M&P 15-22 thread issues with AAC Element2 Suppressor

Just purchased the M&P 15-22 MOE SL rifle from budsgunshop.com last week. I took the flash hider and crush washer off and went to thread my AAC Element2 on and the suppressor threading is noticeably shorter than the rifles threading.

AAC told me that the threading for my suppressor is .450" and I've heard a wide range of answers about how long the threading on my M&P is.

Anyone have both of these products? What works? What spacer should I buy to get a perfect combo?

Don't have an AAC element, however that does NOT disqualify this post (I have a sparrow, and it has the same issue)

The threads on the 15-22 are longer than necessary for most .22 suppressors.

A proper thread spacer, along with an explanation, is available here. For the AAC Element, you should be able to use the same spacer (contact AAC or your FFL if you have doubts):

Wish I could help you out. Would love to see pics of the setup you have.

How deep are your Sparrow's threads?

Same, you will need same spacer to shorten the length of the threads on the barrel. It will thread all the way down with the Sparrow, but your effectively taking the blast chamber out of the loop. (will make suppressor wee bit louder)

It works well and happy with the Sparrow - spacer / 15-22 combo.

AAC says the distance from the back of the end cap (where it shoulders against the barrel) to the rim of the first baffle is .700" so with the barrel threading .600" in, they said it's ok.

I just don't like when I take my suppressor off, I feel all the grit that is on the tip of the barrel threading. Should I go with a spacer and have the suppressor threading be .050" longer than the barrel? Or just leave as is?

I would go with a spacer. The further that first baffle is from the muzzle, the better, IMHO - there will be less damage (not that there should be any) to the first baffle. Your threads will also not get gunk on them, and .050" isn't going to cause a baffle strike.

I ended up going with the SilencerCo threaded spacer. $23 shipped (which is ridiculously priced) but I know they make quality products.

It will work without a spacer, you'll just lose the use of the expansion chamber due to rifle thread length.
Db difference will be minimal if using subsonic ammo, and it won't hurt the suppressor.
