I just ordered a 15-22 from LGS (paid in full) so when it comes in, it'll have my name on it. The only thing is, they don't know when it'll come in. My question is, has anyone ordered one locally within the last month ? How long did it take ? Are you still waiting ? Just trying to get an idea on how long i'm looking at, more or less.

You could be in for a very long wait if they don't have a source with them in stock. I got mine on-line from Grabagun early January when it showed in stock, got it a couple weeks later. Delay was due to high order volume causing shipping delays.

What is "local" for you? That may make a difference.

Smith and Wesson M&P15-22 - .22 Long Rifle

I got mine a few weeks ago and it was at my local FFL within a few days. The price has gone up considerably, but I'm sure that has to do with the original source.
JoeBob even throw's in a tshirt and some decals for free so long as you remember to add them to your cart.

I have bought 6 in the last 4 weeks from my LGS. They are out there and trucks are bringing them in every day.

I'm in Los Angeles. I ordered my 15-22 MOE on 1/25/13 from Turner's Outdoorsman. They got a few Standards in the other day, but no MOEs. They told me that the MOEs should be coming in based on the fact that S&W shipped the Standards recently.

I ordered it from a S&W Dealer that had already ordered a few 15-22s(backorder) so there shouldn't be a FFl fee. LGS is just waiting on them. So if they just happen to get 1 in, it should go to me (unless they want to be sneaky, sell it and give me the runaround since they already have my $$) $499+ Tax ($532.69).

That's what i like to hear/read ;)

Just curious what the LGS transfer fees cost you. Also, does the receiving LGS collect sales tax when you purchase a firearm online?

Bought mine from Buds several weeks ago & my FFL dealer charged $30 (I gave him $40). That was all that I had to pay, except of course what I paid Buds.

I know they aren't the cheapest but I note Buds has the threaded barrel in stock & ready for quick ship.

I'm getting more and more interested in this gun. Can you tell me why the advantage of a threaded barrel and are they more expensive? Thanks....

Not more expensive at Buds. Here is the link: M&P15-22 Rifles for Sale at BudsGunShop

I wanted a factory threaded model because I have purchased a suppressor awaiting arrival of my stamp from the government. But even if I didn't have immediate plans for a suppressor, I would still select the threaded barrel. That gun comes standard with a flash suppressor (compensator) plus if later you decide to shoot suppressed, then you are all set. If however you don't buy the factory threaded model & later want a suppressor, then you have to find someone to thread it for you. That costs a bit of money plus might not be done just right.

FYI, I don't want a suppressor to act like Rambo or whatever. I'm too old to worry about being or looking cool. I own 20 acres & have areas on my property where I can safely shoot 22s. Steep ravines with heavy woods behind. However I still have neighbors & own horses, so I prefer to not make so much noise. That is why I wanted a threaded barrel. Also, I wanted a MOE version, with folding sights, but they are hard to find. No big deal, as you can purchase the MOE folding sights & put them on in minutes.

I ordered my MOE at a LGS a week ago and they said they have some on backorder but only one is for sure coming this month. So I guess it really depends on what shop and where you live.

I just left an LGS and they had four MOEs ($599) and four regulars with flash hider ($509). This is in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (must be for those Amish mafia guys). I think that the price tag is why they are still there, but if you can't find one, and you reaaaaaly want one, then drop me a private message. I got mine at an LGS a couple of miles away from this one during Chirstmas week, and paid $431, but he's sold out and no more are on the horizon.

I don't mean to be a jerk about this, but your wording sounds like you might be offering to buy a firearm for someone else. Please don't do this or even think about doing this. It would be a straw purchase and you would likely lose your rights to ever own any guns ever again.

Just to be clear, I am just giving out information without directly listing the name of the LGS. I'm confused as to the proper etiquette in reference to advertising on this board. The PM is only so that I can forward the contact information of the LGS, and whomever contacts me can do with it what they wish. My association with this LGS is only as a customer. I will not receive any type of compensation for giving out this information. I was just trying to be helpful.
